In the middle of last year Line 6 announced a brand new version of their Variax guitar. An evolution of the first Variax, but this time based on a decent guitar - designed by none other than James Tyler.
Line 6 have been slow to deliver following a premature launch. There are three models, the 59 (Les Paul Style), 69 (Strat Style) and the 89 (modern 24 fret). We are back ordered on two of them (the 59 and 69) for some time. Getting information out of Line 6 is quite difficult, and to be fair Im not sure exactly how much the ground level staff know. I have established that in the next delivery (end of June) there are only around 160 guitar for the whole of Europe. This breaks down roughly 25% 89's 25% 69's and 50% 59's. It doesn't take much working out that this is not enough to go around. Line 6 are unclear on when production will be up to a sufficient level to fulfil back orders, but the date seems to go back every time I speak to them.
The good news is that we have managed to secure stock of two "89" guitars that are not reserved and so available for purchase on our website. This is the least popular model, yet they have produced the most of them hence some available as free stock. We've have played one of them in the shop and have to say they are great. So if you fancy being one of the first in the country to get your hands on one of these this is your chance.
